I’ve got the January blues,
the past year finally cut loose.
My resolutions fade away,
they’re getting weaker day by day.
There’s nothing left for me to lose,
I’ve got the January blues.
December’s cheer is gone for good,
that’s why I’m sulking in this mood.
I hope that spring will soon be here
to brighten up the time of year.
I’ve got the January blues
which isn’t something I can use.
I’m in a melancholic state,
which makes me want to contemplate.
So let me be, and spread the news:
I’ve got the January blues.

It strikes a chord indeed. Though I don’t regret December’s passing. Great quatern, Peter 🙂

I like this poem. It flows very well and I can relate to the sentiments at times though I try to keep my spirits up.
